Music Extracurricular Activities

4-6 Choir

The 4-6 Choir is a year-round program that meets once a cycle at lunch break. The choir is a group of dedicated students who love to sing and perform for others. We sing two part music in a variety of styles. We perform at concerts, assemblies and like to perform in the community whenever possible. Our focus is improving our sound, growing in our part-singing skills and sharing music with others.

In the past we have collaborated with students from the Collegiate to form a Grade 4-9 choir in the late spring.

Grade 6 Handbells

The Grade 6 Handbell Ringers are a group of dedicated grade 6 students who love to ring. The Handbell Ringers play at concerts, assemblies and try to perform in the community whenever possible. They meet once a cycle at Lunch Break. A number of ringing sessions are available that teach basic and more advanced techniques. Ringing helps students learn to be accountable to a group, read and play music and explore all the sounds the handbell can create.  Ringing in a group can be a powerful team-building experience. We are excited to be adding handchimes to our Spring Session in 2017
